I'm born and raised from Los Angeles (a true rare commodity as I've come to learn) yet can say that I barely take a visit to the most beloved part of our city-- the beach. And then therefore, that goes the same with venturing to one of our most beloved beach towns-- Malibu. So close, yet seemingly "so far" for us LA'ers not near Santa Monica, we sometimes forget about the beautiful little places that are around us. This past weekend I decided to take a little "day trip" as I guess we would like to call it and take a visit down to Malibu and the Malibu Country Mart (which I actually always want to do but never seem to have the time to do it). It was there that I had a fun day of beauty and fashion with the new swimwear store that just opened at the Country Mart called Letarte (which you may recognize from Sports Illustrated fame) and the ever amazing beauty store that could have everything you need called Beauty Collection. The day started off with a little private swimwear fashion show in the Letarte store where adorable models (including the new obsession of my life the little adorable girl by the name of Mila Sophia) strutted down the store showcasing the new trends for Letarte which included crotchet, color blocking, and skulls. Getting a little description of each piece and why each are unique and so special in their own ways, I quickly got educated and infatuated with the whole line. We then headed over to the Beauty Collection where we got facials, makeup redos and touchups, and more. I learned that unlike other beauty stores, Beauty Collection caters to the people of the community, giving customers what they want. That means while the Beauty Collection has a West Hollywood and Malibu location, they don't necessarily carry the same pieces, but instead, have curated pieces that cater to the West Hollywood and Malibu locations respectively. Getting also inside scoops and details on upcoming products that will be heading to stores and even getting pieces that aren't out yet (like the fab Essie neon nail polishes featured below), I had so much fun in Malibu that I quickly got hooked with the idea that I simply need to come back for more.... and throw in some tan/beach sessions while I'm at it.
