Top Knots and Tie Dresses

Top Knots & Tie Dresses-- my two favorite Ts! Two weeks ago I was heading to an event in Downtown LA at one of the most happening (and delicious!) restaurants there is down there, Bestia. So being that it was so freakin' hot that day and I knew I was going to be in Downtown a little earlier to walk around and take some photos, I wanted to dress in something both chic but comfy. So that's how I came about deciding on doing this pretty striped maxi look. The material of this Tart number is so smooth and soft that it was effortless and beyond comfortable to be in it for the rest of the night. And I love how from the front, it looked covered and standard, yet when you turned around from the back, it was as if it was a totally different dress with the tied strings and open back. For my hair, I decided to go with the top knot look which is either a favorite or hated amongst my closest family and friends. Yet, if you follow my YouTube videos, you saw the one I did one on short hairstyles and I totally brought top knot look back then too! Aka for me, top knots and tie dresses are two T musts!

Plaid Vibes

As you may have been able to tell, all Summer long I have had a semi obsession with maxi dresses. Yet, it's slowly (in LA terms) becoming less Summer and more Fall. And that means transitioning my closet (and mind) into a new season and therefore new trends. Yet, why leave a good thing behind just because that good thing (aka the season) is leaving us? That's why to me, the maxi dresses are here to stay! Being blessed with almost the perfect weather here in LA, I'm luckily able to take on the crisp and warmth mixture by being able to pull off this Hurley tie dye black and white dress. And of course, taking notes from the Queen (...  Beyonce obviously) who has made wrapping a plaid shirt around your waist all the rage and #Flawless, my red flannel adds that perfect Fall touch.

Missguided Challenge: Part 2

My Missguided maxi dress challenge continues as I show you how to freshen up yesterday's look and make you ready for a night out on the town. Switching the floral headband out for a floral backdrop, the key (for me) for making you the perfect night owl is to dress up the look with jewels. Statement pieces like this House of Harlow necklace that's always a favorite of mine along with epic rings like this gold deer from Huckleberry LTD are essentials to making a dress go from plain to amaze. But of course, with any statement jewelry you need statement shoes. So switching from subtle shoes (that were not the focus of yesterday's outfit) to epic cut out booties like these white ones will definitely make you fully prepared for a night out.
