Making Changes

Changes are hard, changes are not easy. I'm the first person in the world that can quickly say that I hate them the most. But sometimes it's those changes you need to get you to the next place you're meant to be. I've always fully believed in the mentality that one should always do what they love and love what they do. And it seemed like when I was younger, everyone knew exactly what that meant for them, who they wanted to be, and what they were going to be doing. But me, I wasn't quite so sure. Sure, there were things that I liked, but how was a supposed to make something that was my so-called "hobby" into a reality, let alone a real life career? Fast forward to practically three years since I've graduated college, and I look around me and see myself doing exactly what I love-- kind of now looking back at my younger self and feeling like it was almost crazy that I felt so much anxiety about the future.

I started this blog a year ago with a vision... and a floral headband. The message behind my blog was simple-- inspiration. I wanted to simply inspire and show others that they too can follow their dreams and do something that they love, and have fun while doing it. And as I finally take my own advice and make my transition to focusing fully on fashion, this blog, and this message that's so important to me, I don't forget about that little girl who was afraid of the future and afraid that her dreams would never be made into a reality. Sure changes are hard and sure changes are not easy, but as long as you believe in yourself and believe that you're doing the right thing, all you need sometimes are some floral headbands to help guide you along the way to success.

Central Parkin'

When I found out that I was going to be heading to New York last week, there was only one thing on my mind that I definitely had to do-- picnic at Central Park. Striving to make it a tradition each time I'm in town, visiting Central Park, even for a second, is always a must. Without fail, always so astounded by the beauty and all that Central Park entails, lying on the grass, hanging out, and enjoying some yummy snacks with some of the best company, picnicing in the park was a necessity. Heading to the Whole Foods right across the street before and meeting up with friends who brought bomb macaron treats, even though the humidity was melting us all away, being surrounded by picturesque views of the gorgeous buildings and hanging out on a Friday with some of the best peeps, the day definitely fulfilled all of my little LA dreams of picnicing in the park.

Summer On The Go

In a time where the weather in LA has changed from rainy and foggy days to scorching nights where it's 85 degrees at 11 PM, you need some clothes in your closet that easily adjust to the rapid changing temperatures and welcome and embrace the summer. I always love to have quick pieces that I can grab easily for a day out-- no-brainers that will allow you to adjust to the forecast changes and make you fit in well with what's going on around you. I used to buy all my purchases with a requirement in my head of needing to know what I could pair that piece with, with items already in my closet. But over the past few years, my purchasing mentality has changed-- buying items that I love on their own, and then leaving it to me later on to work backwards and configure pieces that worked well together. This shirt from H&M as well as these pink/peach shorts from Forever 21 that I had bought both randomly in hopes of being able to pair with items in the future both turned out to be great options and perfectly matching together. Throwing in my essential neon jewelry into the mix to complete the summer on the go ensemble, no one would expect that this super simple styling and outfit was whipped together within seconds.
