Bringing Classy Back

You always hear one girl or another complaining and saying in frustration, "ugh, but if only if he dressed better!" Which then sometimes even results in girls feeling like it's their life-goal mission to go all Princess Diaries on the guy and transform his look. Wanting a guy who knows how to layer and wears v-necks as actual shirts and not as undershirts...  is that too much to ask for? Lucky for us Fashionlainers, I've found a budding fashionista who has got this memo early on and is owning in the wardrobe department.  While his friends and classmates are pulling out their typical tees, jeans, and maybe even basketball shorts for a normal day of school, Daniel is heading straight for the sweaters and button downs. For all of us girls who swooned over Ryan Gosling's character in Crazy Stupid Love, loving that he knew  it was appropriate to dress up on the daily, Daniel is the real deal version of that. Always keeping his outfits classy and well put together, Daniel is always game-on, dressing to impress every day and night.

Stud It Up

You don't have to pay a million bucks to look like a million bucks! To me, the best deals are not the ones that you find, but the ones that you can make. And I love making things and being able to tell people that they're my own. As you probably have heard me mention before, I'm a big fan of studs. When I can find something that has studs on them, it pretty much becomes a must have in my collection. Studded sweaters are very in for this winter season, but recently, the ones I've been seeing at stores have some sort of issue: they're not the color I want, they're not the studs I like, the sweater looks cheap, the studs look tacky. So why not diffuse all the issues at hand and make my own ultimate winter studded sweater? Below are the super easy steps to how you too can have the studded sweater of your dreams, creating the ultimate must have for this holiday season. And trust me, when you're rocking the sweater in front of your friends, everyone will be asking how they too can get in on the studded action.

Step 1: Find the perfect sweater that you'll love and actually want to wear

Step 2: Choose the type of studs you want to put on

Step 3: Assess where you want to place the studs throughout the sweater

Step 4: With the spikey side, start carefully placing the studs in the sweater

Step 4: Use plyers to bend over the spikey points and seal the studs onto the sweater

Step 5: Continue placing studs on the remaining portions of the sweater until you're sweater is fully studded out (for this sweater I did four studs per row, alternating the location per row)

Step 6: Voila! You're done!

Winter Wonderland

It's December and that can only mean one thing... bring on the winter clothes!  Today's look was inspired by what I believe are the must-have essentials to make anyone feel right at home during these cold and trying times. People have asked if fur vests are out of style because they were soo last year. I say, fur vests are definitely here to stay, so resurrect them from your closet and pair them up with a cute combo. When I was younger, I think I probably owned every turtle neck ever created. Therefore as I grew older, I grew to resent them, not feeling like they were cute or fashionable anymore. But now, after a lot of time and some thought, I gave them a second chance and kind of can't live without them.  This top in particular is one of my favorites because it's not only warm, but it's so comfy and usable that you can mix and match it with a lot of different ensembles.

But of course, let's not disregard the most important part of this outfit... the leggings! I know, when I first saw these thermal beauties, I wasn't sure if I could really pull them off. But then I soon realized that I absolutely couldn't leave the store without them. It's important to have those token fun pieces in your wardrobe that you can throw into an outfit here and there. And these leggings are one of those pieces for me. I'm more of a summer girl, loving my cute high waisted shorts and crop tops. But as we enter this new weather and cold times ahead, instead of getting sad and in fear of the change in temperature, embrace it and work through it in style with your best winter chic look.
