Florals in Fall

Florals in Fall How does that old saying? You can take the seasons out of florals, but you can't take the florals out of seasons? Ok fine, I just made that up, but it's a pretty good saying that should be used more often. Either way, that's a saying that I've come to see that I use no matter what season we're in. Over the summer I was a floral headband loving machine, so I was a little sad to acknowledge the pink elephant in my headband drawer'd room where I was going to have to accept the day that would come where I wouldn't be able to wear a floral halo on my head in the fall and winter seasons. But atlas! The day has come. It's fall. And the floral headbands are still popping up in my ensembles. You see my friends, as my fave saying goes (...coined by myself again), "be what you want, wear what you want". And even though I was a little frightened to exit my house wearing today's floral headband wondering what others would think, I just followed my own saying and went for it. It's all about how you pair the entire look together which makes all the difference; so tying today's floral headband together with a turtle neck (crop top of course), cardigan, and the perfect shade of a long purple skirt-- you too see how easy it can be to wear florals in the fall.

Forever Summer

Where has the time gone that it's practically almost August? I remember when I was talking about how excited I was that it was almost turning into spring and how it was time to grab every neon accessory and item clothing that one came across because it was officially that season. But now, here we are, a day before August 1st, with the days just passing right by us. You know that fall is fastly approaching when I'm out shopping and can't even convince myself to my anymore crop tops or bursting neon items because I now there's a time limit to which these articles of clothing will be used up in the following weeks to come. But with that said, until that day finally approaches and I'll have to return my high waisted shorts back for my beloved leggings and exchange my turtleneck crop tops for long sleeve turtleneck ponchos, I'll be in denial that summer is almost over and you'll without fail still see me rocking the neon.

All Vintage

When people throw around the word "vintage", the ones that shop it love the word and the ones that are not familiar with it are in fear of it. There's a stigma around vintage clothing and shopping, with a wide population assuming that the clothes you buy are just some second-hand, dirty, and worn out pieces. But sometimes the vintage pieces are the most amazing, intricate, and beautiful pieces you find, or in this case, maybe even just a cheaper and cooler version of the hottest trends today. Having a purchase you can call your own and that wasn't mass produced for the hundreds is what makes one's outfit unique and special. Today's ensemble which consists of a turtle neck crop top that looks like it could have been bought from American Apparel and high-waisted shorts that I almost have an identical pair to in black from Zara, were both purchases that I made at a flea market. On top of that, throwing in a pair of sunglasses from my latest obsession, Ivory Mason, who's whole line is created on the basis of reviving vintage frames, combine together to complete my whole throwback ensemble. So the next time someone uses the word vintage, remember it's not all old and re-used; in fact, sometimes it takes the vintage to bring in breath of fresh air and a super cute new look.
